JEE Main 2026 Registration LIVE: NTA application form open till November 27; new centres, key changes

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi will hold its 13th Convocation Ceremony on November 13, 2025, celebrating the graduation of 602 students across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. The ceremony will also honour academic, research, and innovation achievements, including the first graduating batch from the new BTech-MTech dual degree, BTech with second major, and BTech with specialisation programmes.

The eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2026 are:

• Candidates should have passed Class 12 in 2024 or 2025, or be appearing for it in 2026.
• Physics and Mathematics are compulsory in Class 12, along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or a Technical Vocational subject.
• There is no minimum marks or percentage requirement for application.
• There is no age limit for candidates.

For JEE Main 2025, candidates should follow a specified dress code at the exam centre. NTA advises wearing light clothing without any metallic items, watches, or accessories. Shoes, belts, and full-sleeved garments are discouraged to ensure smooth security checks and compliance with exam guidelines. For female candidates appearing in JEE Main 2025, NTA advises wearing light, simple clothing without metallic items, jewellery, or full-sleeved garments. Traditional wear like salwar-kameez or churidar is allowed, but scarves or dupattas should not have metal embellishments.

At IIT Delhi, BTech Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Electrical Engineering (EE) remained the most opted courses, with closing ranks of 116 and 605 respectively under the open category, according to JoSAA 2025. The 4-year CSE programme offered 79 seats, including 20 for female candidates, while EE had 88 gender-neutral and 22 female seats. In total, 27,697 students chose CSE and 23,503 opted for EE, with BTech in Design being the least preferred programme.

The registration window for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2026 will remain open till November 27. Candidates can complete and submit their application forms through the official website — jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the JEE Main 2026 exam dates. Session 1 will be conducted from January 21 to 30, while session 2 will be held from April 2 to 9. The dates confirmed in the information brochure released by the NTA.

Steps to register for JEE Main 2026:

• Visit the official website — jeemain.nta.nic.in
• Click on ‘Registration for JEE Main 2026 Session 1’
• Create a new account using your email ID and password
• Fill out the application form and upload the necessary documents
• Pay the application fee and verify all entered details
• Submit the form and download the confirmation page for reference

Cut-offs for top IITs rose this year, with IIT Delhi’s Electrical Engineering closing rank improving to 605 and CSE to 116 under the open category. IIT Bombay’s CSE closing rank also increased to 66, reflecting higher competition for premier engineering branches.

Candidates will have to keep the required documents and information ready to complete the JEE Main 2026 registration process without any hassle. The following documents and details will be needed:

• A valid email ID and mobile number to receive NTA notifications.
• Class 10 certificate (Class 12 certificate is not required).
• Aadhaar card details.
• Scanned photograph and signature.
• Details of OBC-NCL/EWS certificate (upload not required).
