5 most popular study abroad universities, courses among students, reveals Prodigy Finance
Northeastern University, Cleveland State University, and University of North Texas, were the most preferred among students, based on loan applications received in 2024.

NEW DELHI: Prodigy Finance, an international student loan lender, has revealed five most popular study abroad universities and most sought-after courses, based on the loan application received for 2024 academic year. These universities offer programmes in different fields, including engineering, management, law, catering to several academic interests and help students with ample opportunities to grow their career, it said in an official statement.
“These universities, known for their quality and variety of programs, are the benchmark for global education and the go-to destinations for students looking to study abroad. By identifying these universities, Prodigy Finance aims to help students make informed decisions about their education journey,” it said.
Many students also chose to study at University of Bridgeport, University of Texas at Dallas, Illinois Institute of Technology, New Jersey Institute of Technology, University of Texas at Arlington, Arizona State University, Cleveland State University, and Stevens Institute of Technology among others for various fields like engineering, business, healthcare, public policy, science and law, Prodigy Finance said.
Northeastern University
Northeastern University, the United States, is highly sought after among students interested in business, engineering, or science. As of fall 2023, a total of 16,209 international graduate students enrolled in the university. “Its popular co-op programme is based on an effective combination of work experience and academic research. It offers an additional chance for learners to hone the knowledge they have gained in their classes,” it said.
Cleveland State University
Cleveland State University is known for providing quality education at affordable cost. The study abroad offerings from the university include faculty-led programmes abroad, exchange programmes, and affiliate programmes.
The university also provides students an international exposure through research making engineering and business, including chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and information systems most preferred courses.
“International students make up about 6.2% of the total student body. The university cultivates responsible academic achievers and helps graduates to become successful in their selected field, as it provides a high rate of employment and relatively high starting wages in their chosen fields,” it added.
University of North Texas
The University of North Texas (UNT) offers top academic programmes in science, healthcare, engineering, business, and liberal arts. UNT offers 114 bachelor's, 97 master's, and 39 doctoral programmes across 14 colleges; giving aspirants a wide range of options to choose from.
More than 2,500 international students study at UNT, hailing from over 141 different countries.

Pace University located in New York City, one of the world’s key financial centres, is the top destination for students who want to excel in the business world. “Pace gives students several opportunities to build connections and grow in their careers. 22% of their student body consists of international students,” it said.
The university offers higher education courses in human resources, accounting, business financial management, risk management, social media mobile marketing, and other areas.
The university's School of Computer Science and Information Systems is the first institution in the USA dedicated to computer science and information systems. Students who study at this college find exciting career opportunities worldwide, it claimed.
Saint Louis University
Saint Louis University (SLU) is preferred by students seeking degrees in aviation, atmospheric sciences, medicine, business, and law. In 2023, 11% of SLU’s total enrollment consisted of international graduate students from more than 20 countries.
The university's Park's College of Engineering, Aviation, and Technology draws students desirous to pursue geoscience, biomedical engineering, and aerospace engineering.
