NEW DELHI: In a move to transform the landscape of career opportunities for engineering students in India, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and apna.co, leading jobs and professional networking platform, have jointly launched the ‘AICTE Career Portal’. The initiative will benefit over 3 million students from more than 12,000 colleges affiliated with AICTE.
The AICTE Careers Portal will go live on April 30. It aims to help freshers and job seekers to access jobs and internship opportunities both in India and abroad. It also provides essential career planning tools such as AI resume building, real-time job alerts, and community engagement, the council said.
“The strategic partnership also offers an exclusive opportunity for students to participate in the Silicon Valley Immersion Program. This immersive experience includes a fully-sponsored trip to Silicon Valley, USA, where students will engage directly with industry leaders at renowned companies such as Google, Apple and Microsoft, among others,” the official statement read.
The council informed that there are over 5 lakh recruiters connected with apna.co and about 50% of jobs accept freshers.
Further, the AICTE career portal also equips colleges with transformative tools such as the ‘Outcomes Dashboard’, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning. As placement statistics attract targeted companies, the college community feature helps foster communication and networking and to build reputation among students and recruiters.
During the launch event, TG Sitharam said: “The collaboration with apna.co signifies a pivotal partnership between the government and startups, addressing critical employment challenges. By joining forces, we are not only empowering students to cultivate essential skills but also facilitating their access to a broad spectrum of national and global employment opportunities. This association also fosters meaningful engagement with leading companies via a dynamic ecosystem that nurtures talent and drives economic growth.”
