AILET 2026: NLU Delhi reduces application fees, offers full scholarship for AIR 1; BA LLB, LLM fee structure

The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2026 will be conducted on December 14, 2025, for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at National Law University (NLU) Delhi. This year, NLU Delhi will reduce application fees for all categories, widen the scope of fee exemptions, and offer new scholarship provisions to improve access to legal education.

According to the official notice, the application fee for General category candidates has been reduced from Rs 3,500 to Rs 3,000. For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates, the fee has been cut from Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,000. Women and SC, ST candidates under the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category will be exempt from paying the fee.

The AILET 2026 registration process is currently underway, and the last date to submit the application form is November 10, 2025. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official website, nationallawuniversitydelhi.in.

AILET 2026: Full scholarship for AIR 1

NLU Delhi has introduced, for the first time, a full scholarship for the All India Rank (AIR) 1 holder in the first year of the Bachelor of Arts Bachelor of Laws (Honours) [BA LLB (Hons.)] programme for the 2026 admission cycle.

“NLU Delhi has also announced a full scholarship for the All India Rank (AIR) 1 holder in the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme (first year). Every academic year, the university provides scholarships worth 70-80 lakh across various categories and programmes,” the official notice said.

NLU Delhi BA LLB (Hons.) tuition fees 2026

Eligible candidates seeking admission to the BA LLB (Hons.) programme will be required to pay an annual tuition fee of Rs 1,56,000. For the Master of Laws (LLM) programme, the tuition fee is Rs 1,38,000 per year.

The university states that the tuition fee and halls of residence charges mentioned above are subject to an annual increase. For Indian nationals, the tuition fee will rise by Rs 7,000 per year. For foreign nationals, the annual increase will be USD 100 for SAARC countries and USD 200 for non-SAARC countries. Halls of Residence charges for hostellers will increase by Rs 3,000 per year.
