NEW DELHI: For CBSE board exams 2025, there is no reduction in Class 10, 12 syllabus and no open book exam will be held, clarifies the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). In an official notification, the board rubbished claims of 15% reduction in Class 10, 12 syllabus and open book examinations for the 2024-25 session. Several media houses reported changes in the board exams 2025 including increase in weightage of internal assessment.

Earlier today, Careers360 also reported that no such changes have been made by CBSE, based on interactions with the headquarters and some school heads. The central board reiterated that the recently-notified subject-wise marks distribution is the only factual information related to the upcoming exams.

“In reference to the news published in various online news portals and newspapers regarding the reduction of 15% of the curriculum and conducting open book exams for selected subjects under the CBSE Board Examination 2025 for classes 10 and 12, please note that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not made any changes to its examination system or internal assessment system, nor has any official notification been issued in this regard. Therefore, the Board denies the aforementioned news,” said Vikas Kumar Agrawal, secretary at CBSE’s regional office in Bhopal, in an official statement.
