Bomb threat at DPS Dwarka: School evacuated as precautionary measure

DPS Dwarka: The authorities have received a call regarding the presence of an explosive device inside the school. Multiple teams from the Delhi police, bomb disposal squad, and dog squad rushed to the spot.
Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka has received a bomb threat call today, prompting authorities to evacuate the premises as a precaution, according to officials of the Delhi Fire Service. A call was received regarding the presence of an explosive device inside the school.
Multiple teams from the Delhi police, bomb disposal squad, and dog squad have been rushed to the spot, DFS said. A search operation is underway, said a senior fire official.
All students from pre-school to Class 12 are being sent back immediately. Students travelling by school buses and private vans have been sent back, and teachers on duty have shared the location with students’ parents. DPS Dwarka has requested parents to come and pick up their wards from their respective bus stops.
DPS Dwarka has cancelled all the activities scheduled for today. The school will announce the fresh dates soon.
DPS Dwarka receives bomb threat
"Kindly note that the school has been closed for today, that is, Monday, August 18, due to unavoidable circumstances," the DPS Dwarka Delhi notice read on a social media account. The authorities urged parents to come and pick up their wards from the school campus gates.

- Classes 3 to 5: Gate No. 4
- Classes 6 and 7: Gate No. 5
- Classes 8 and 9: Gate No.2
- Classes 10 to 12: Gate No. 1
Earlier in July, eight schools in Delhi received bomb threats, prompting immediate evacuations. The school authorities and police carried out extensive checks in the premises and declared the threat a hoax. The list of schools included Vasant Valley School in Vasant Kunj, Mother International in Hauz Khas, Prudence School in Paschim Vihar and Pitampura, Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Lodhi Estate, and St Thomas School in Paschim Vihar.
