Dharmendra Pradhan encourages ‘YuvaShakti’ at IIT Delhi for technological innovation

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) today and addressed the students, innovators and researchers. The minister emphasised the importance of self-reliance in line with fulfilling the vision of ‘Samridhh Bharat’.

In his speech directed to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students, Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted the “crucial” role of IITs as the “bedrock of a self-reliant India”. He encouraged the ‘YuvaShakti’ (youth) to bring innovation in technology and entrepreneurship, to promote the development of a “Samridhh and self-reliant Bharat”.

The education minister engaged with the students and asked them about their aspirations, challenges, research areas, and perspectives on new technologies and opportunities. Pradhan urged students to bring forth their “innovative ideas” and to keep hustling to achieve their dreams.

Government support at IIT Delhi

Pradhan assured the students at IIT Delhi that the Government of India will support innovations which will establish India as a “global hub of solutions”. Dharmendra Pradhan expressed his support towards creating a “brighter future” for the next generation. The minister announced that he will revisit the institute to review student innovations being developed.

Apart from the Union Education Minister, the secretary of the department of higher education, Vineet Joshi, also interacted with the students at IIT Delhi. Joshi underscored Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day message on the role of youth. He asserted the belief that the students and faculty members of IIT Delhi will lead the world in developing technologies and solutions.

The department of higher education has assured support to institutions for advancing innovation, strengthening research, and addressing challenges to realise the goal of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.
