The Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) 2025 elections for phase 2 is undergoing across 52 polling stations at eight DU campuses. The phase 1 voting took place from 8:30 am to 1 pm at 7 polling stations across 36 colleges and departments in the South Campus. DUSU Election 2025 LIVE.

Around 2.75 lakh students are taking part in the DUSU presidential elections 2025 and casting their votes at 195 polling booths across 52 polling stations. Three major students’ parties are contesting the DUSU election 2025 - ABVP, NSUI, and SFI-AISA alliance.

Notably, 21 candidates are in the fray for presidential post in the DUSU polls 2025 and approximately 700 electronic voting machines (EVMs) and 155 polling booths have been set up across 52 DU colleges.

First phase of voting went off peacefully, says election officer

Women candidates have been given an opportunity to contest in the DUSU elections 2025 after 20 years. Congress-backed NSUI’s Joslyn Nandita Choudhary, a PG student of Buddhist Studies is contesting for the post over issues such as hostel facilities, campus safety, and menstrual leave.

Another female candidate from SFI-AISA alliance, Anjali has been selected as its representative for the DUSU elections 2025. She is from Indraprastha College for Women, and she has promised gender sensitisation, rollback of fee hikes and stronger grievance redressal if she wins.

Furthermore, Aryan Maan from ABVP has been contesting on subsidised metro passes, free Wi-Fi and better sports infrastructure.

Raj Kishore Sharma, chief officer for DUSU elections, informed that the first phase of the voting process was peaceful. “Observers continued to monitor all polling stations. After voting, the EVMs were stored in the strong room in the Multipurpose Hall located in the university's sports complex. He stated that all arrangements, including CCTV cameras, have been made smoothly. All preparations have been made for the counting of votes in the basement of the Multipurpose Hall,” Sharma said.

The result for the DUSU elections 2025 will be declared on September 19, 2025. The second phase of the DUSU polls 2025 will be over at 7:30 pm.
