The technology institute will conduct the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2026 (GATE 2026) on February 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2026.
The GATE 2026 will be held for admission to postgraduate programs such as ME, MTech, PhD at IITs, IISc, and various other universities and colleges across India.
Applicants will have to enter their enrollment ID and password to access the GATE 2026 registration form. The exam will take place for 30 papers and the scores will be announced on March 19, 2026.

GATE 2026: Registration fee, new section paper
GATE is a national-level examination, conducted to assess the candidates for a comprehensive understanding of different undergraduate-level subjects in engineering, technology, science, commerce, arts, architecture, humanities.
Notably, candidates can also submit their GATE 2026 registration form along with the late fee by October 9, 2025.
Female candidates and those belonging to SC, ST, or PwD categories are required to pay Rs 1,000 per paper as application fee, while other applicants should have to pay a requisite registration fee of Rs 2,000 per paper.
Similarly, those choosing to submit the GATE 2026 application form after deadline, will have to pay the late fee. Female, and SC, SC, PwD should pay Rs 1,500, while other category candidates can pay Rs 2,500.
Recently, IIT Guwahati included a new sectional paper, energy science under the Engineering Sciences (XE) subject. Candidates can choose any two of the eight XE sections.
