ICAI appoints Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal as 72nd president for council year 2024-25

Central council member Charanjot Singh Nanda has been appointed as the vice president of ICAI.
NEW DELHI: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has appointed Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal as their new President, the institute informed via social media. Agarwal has assumed charge as the 72nd President of ICAI. Additionally, Charanjot Singh Nanda has been elected as the ICAI Vice President for the Year 2024-25.

Agarwal took over the baton from Aniket S Talati. Agarwal has served as the central council member of ICAI since 2016 and then served as the vice-president in 2023-24. He was elected to the 23rd, 24th and 25th Central Council of the ICAI three times in a row.
To propel India forward, he launched the Chartered Accountants (CA) business leaders 40 under 40 campaign to develop leaders for tomorrow, recognising and celebrating the achievements of 40 young CA professionals under the age of 40 and emphasizing his commitment to fostering excellence and innovation in the industry.

ICAI president
As the president of ICAI, Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal will now chair all of the standing committees of the organization, including executive, finance, disciplinary and examination committees, as well as ex-officio members of all non-standing committees and editor of the ICAI journal. He is also the director on the board of the Indian Institute of Insolvency Professionals of ICAI (IIIPI).
Continuing to advance the role of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India as a partner in the nation's development, while serving as president, Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal is supporting the government and regulators as a member of the Government Accounting Standards Advisory Board (GASAB) and Audit Advisory Board both formed by the Comptroller and Auditor (CAG) of India, Insurance Advisory Committee and Board of Insurance Regulatory and Government Authority of India (IRDAI) and SEBI’s Primary Market Advisory Committee.
Charanjot Singh Nanda who was appointed as vice president of ICAI was earlier appointed as a central council member of ICAI India. He was also the chairman of the northern India regional council of ICAI for the years 2002-2003.
