ICAI postpones CA September 2025 exams in Kathmandu in view of widespread protests

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has postponed the CA September 2025 exams in Nepal’s Kathmandu in view of the widespread protests over social media ban. The ICAI president told media reports that the CA Intermediate, Final exams 2025 will be held once the situation is normal.

“It is announced for general information that in view of the widespread protests in Nepal , the Chartered Accountants Examinations scheduled to be held on 9th and 10th September 2025 stand postponed in Kathmandu (Nepal) only. Revised dates for the exams scheduled on the above two dates in Kathmandu shall be announced soon,” the institute said in the latest notification.
In the latest update, the Nepal army has imposed nationwide curfew and restrictive orders in response to the demonstrations. Nepal Prime Minister KP Oli resigned on September 9 following agitations in his office demanding action for the death of people during police action. Protestors set fire to the Parliament, President’s office, PM residence, government buildings, and leaders’ homes. The ban was lifted on September 7.
Recently, the ICAI postponed the CA September 2025 exams in some cities of Punjab and Jammu due to heavy rain and floods.
CA Inter exams 2025 are being conducted between September 4 and 15, with Group 1 papers held on September 4, 7 and 9, and Group 2 papers scheduled for September 11, 13 and 15. CA Final exams 2025 were going to take place on September 3, 6 and 8 for Group 1, and on September 10, 12, and 14 for Group 2.
