IIT JAM 2026 registration begins; MS, MSc entrance exam on February 15

JAM 2026: Candidates can apply for the MS and MSc entrance exam on the official website, joaps.iitb.ac.in, by October 12. The exam is scheduled on February 15, in forenoon and afternoon sessions.

A total of 3,000 seats are offered for 89 postgraduate courses across 22 IITs for MSc and MS admissions through the IIT JAM 2026 entrance test . IIT JAM 2026 will be held on February 15 in the forenoon and afternoon sessions.
JAM 2026 forenoon session will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm for CY, GG, and MA paper codes, while the afternoon session will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm for BT, END, MS, and PH paper codes. A candidate can appear in either one or two test papers.
This year, IIT Bombay is the organising institute for JAM 2026. The entrance exam is being conducted by IIT Bombay, IISc Bengaluru, and six IITs, including IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee.

JAM 2026: How to apply?
The steps to apply for IIT JAM 2026 are as follows.
- Register on the JAM official website, jam2026.iitb.ac.in.
- Log in on the JOAPS portal using your login credentials.
- Complete the registration details such as mobile number, number of papers, exam city preference, etc.
- Pay the registration fee and upload the required documents.
- Take a printout of the application form for reference.
IIT JAM 2026 application fee for female, SC, and ST category candidates is Rs 1,000 for one test paper and Rs 1,350 for two tests. Other candidates have to pay Rs 2,000 for one paper and Rs 2,700 for other papers.
