IIT Mandi to hold 13th convocation on November 13; 602 students to graduate across programmes

IIT Mandi Convocation 2025: The ceremony will include the conferment of medals and awards for academic, research, and innovation excellence. Graduates from new programmes, including BTech-MTech dual degree and BTech specialisations, will also be recognised.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi will host its 13th Convocation Ceremony on November 13, 2025. The event will mark the graduation of 602 students from undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes.
As per the institute, the graduating batch includes 292 undergraduates, 241 postgraduates, and 69 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) scholars. The ceremony will also see the conferment of medals and awards recognising achievements in academics, research, innovation, and leadership.
This year, the convocation will feature the graduation of the first batch from three new programmes: BTech-MTech dual degree, BTech with second major, and BTech with specialisation. Special awards will be presented to students demonstrating research and innovation contributions.

The ceremony will be chaired by the Chairman of the Board of Governors, IIT Mandi, and will include Shekhar C Mande, Former Director General, Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), as the Chief Guest. The event will also be attended by distinguished Guests of Honour, including Jagannath Nayak, Director, Centre for High Energy Systems and Sciences (CHESS), DRDO, and Budaraju Srinivasa Murty, Director, IIT Hyderabad will be the Guests of Honour for the ceremony.
IIT Mandi Director Laxmidhar Behera highlighted the institute’s focus on interdisciplinary learning and societal impact. “The 13th Convocation is a proud moment for all of us at IIT Mandi. It is a celebration of the dedication, perseverance, and intellectual growth of our students. Each graduating student represents the spirit of innovation and excellence that IIT Mandi stands for,” he said.
