ISC Class 11, 12 syllabus 2024-25 revised: deleted chapters, new changes

Download EBookNEW DELHI: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) today notified the revised Indian School Certificate (ISC) Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus for the academic year 2024 and 2025-26 respectively. There has been significant revision in the CISCE Class 11 syllabus as the board has removed three chapters.
The ISC Class 12 syllabus, however, has been modified slightly. A few sub topics have been removed from the Class 12 syllabus for the academic year 2025 and 2026. The board has introduced a number of vocational subjects, including robotics and artificial intelligence.
"To enhance educational transactions, this syllabus has an optional recommendation to include ‘Contemporary Studies’ as a component of Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW)," the latest update read.

ISC Class 11 Syllabus: Deleted chapters
Students should note that three chapters from the Class 11 chemistry syllabus have been removed. The chapters include.
- Hydrogen
- s -Block Elements
- Some p -Block Elements.
ISC Class 12 syllabus
The CISCE Board has tweaked the project work topics and pattern. However, the 20% weightage for project work remains the same for this year as well.
Some topics in chapter 2 of political science have also been changed and new topics have been introduced in chapter 10. The topics include:
Regionalism: meaning; kinds of regional aspirations: language issues, sons-of-the-soil policies, river water disputes, demand for new states, secessionist demands.
Political Violence: meaning, forms - linguistic, secessionist, terrorist, caste, electoral and politics of violent agitation. Strengthening Indian Democracy: measures to overcome the challenges faced by Indian Democracy.
