Week-long school inspections to mark Vidyasagar’s 205th birth anniversary

West Bengal: The directorate has urged to hold inspections from September 19 to 23 in all schools and ensure Vidyasagar’s birth anniversary is celebrated.
The directorate of school education, government of West Benga has urged district inspectors of all schools to conduct a special week of inspection to mark the 205th birth anniversary of Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. The directorate had announced inspections from September 19 to 23 in all primary and secondary state schools.
The main objective of the initiative is to ensure the birth anniversary of Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar is celebrated widely. During the inspection period , all plans adopted by schools to celebrate Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar’s birth anniversary will be under strict scrutiny.
“With reference to the subject cited above, he or she is requested to plan and execute a special school inspection for the period September 19 to 23 involving all school inspectors to commemorate the occasion of the 205 birth anniversary of Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar,” the official directorate notice said.

The inspection drive aims to propagate Vidyasagar’s contribution to the education system of West Bengal among the students. Additionally, as per the notice, sub-inspectors (SIs) will be sent to all schools to examine aspects of the birth anniversary celebration.
According to the WBPAY reports, the responsibilities of all SIs will include reviewing plans adopted by schools to celebrate birthdays and ensuring the celebration is executed. Furthermore, they also have to assess how much students are learning about Vidyasagar’s life and ideals.
