Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) recently published the JEE Advanced brochure 2025 on the official website, jeeadv.ac.in, and announced to start the registration process for IIT admissions for JEE Main qualified candidates on April 23. Candidates who bag a rank in the top 2.5 lakh in JEE Main 2025 will be eligible for JEE Advanced, a gateway entrance exam for admission in IITs.
The JEE Main exam 2025 will be held in two sessions in January and April by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Over 12 lakh aspirants appear for the JEE Mains every year. For the next academic year, the NTA will conduct the JEE Mains session 1 exams 2025 from January 22 to January 31.
Candidates who are not citizens of India by birth or naturalized and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), or Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) (OCI/PIO (F)) candidates will be considered as foreign nationals. Such candidates will not be required to write JEE Main and will be permitted to register for JEE Adv 2025 directly.
JEE Advanced 2025: Eligibility for foreign nationals
As per the eligibility criteria for foreign students, they should have studied or are studying in India or abroad at Class 12 or equivalent level at the time of registering and should fulfil the age and qualification criteria.
“Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2000. In countries where a minimum stint in the armed forces (or allied) for a certain period is mandatory before/after Class XII (or equivalent) examination, the candidate will be given a relaxation of the required number of years,” the institute said.
JEE Advanced exam centre list 2025
This year, the JEE Advanced exam 2024 was held in three exam cities abroad namely Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Kathmandu. However, as per the IIT JEE Advanced information brochure 2025, the exam will be held in only Abu Dhabi in UAE and Kathmandu in Nepal.
IITs used to hold JEE Advanced exams in multiple foreign countries before COVID pandemic. However, after four consecutive years, it administered exams in three cities abroad in 2024. It has again been reduced from 3 to 2 for the upcoming entrance exam.
