The highest closing rank for BTech in Artificial Intelligence of NIT Surathkal was 2973 for open (other state) category. For the home state category, the highest closing rank was 3406 for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering.

The admission to undergraduate programmes in NIT Surathkal will be held on the basis of JEE Main 2024, which will be held in two sessions. The National Testing agency will conduct the JEE Main 2024 session 1 from January 24 to February 1, 2024. The JEE Main 2024 session 2 will be held from April 1 to 15, 2024.
The NIT admission counselling 2024 will be held by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). It will conduct six rounds of NIT admission counselling. The NIT Surathkal is ranked 12 in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF 2023) engineering category.
