NTA has directed BTech aspirants to update their documents in advance before the JEE Main 2026 application begins to avoid any discrepancies and grievances at a later stage.
Candidates are advised to update their Aadhar Card with accurate details as per their Class 10th certificate with a latest photograph, and their category certificate should also be updated. For person with disabilities, the UDID Card should be valid, updated, and renewed as required.
The testing agency conducts the JEE Mains 2026 exam twice a year for aspirants preparing for engineering, architecture, and planning programmes at premier technical institutes such as the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).

The JEE Mains paper 1 for BE and BTech will have three sections comprising physics, chemistry, and mathematics, and paper 2 will be held for BArch and BPlanning courses. Paper 2 will include mathematics, an aptitude test, and the third section will be a drawing test or planning, depending on the candidates’ choice (paper 2A for BArch and paper 2B for BPlanning).
Last year, NTA commenced the JEE Mains registration on October 28, and candidates were given nearly a month to submit their JEE Mains application. Candidates will find the JEE Mains 2026 registration link and other important updates available on the NTA’s official website, nta.ac.in or jeemain.nta.nic.in.
