• Candidate with a lower ratio of incorrect to correct answers across all subjects
• Candidate with a lower ratio of incorrect to correct answers in Mathematics
• Candidate with a lower ratio of incorrect to correct answers in Physics
• Candidate with a lower ratio of incorrect to correct answers in Chemistry

If the tie persisted even after applying all these parameters, candidates were allotted the same rank.

Lovely Professional University has opened registrations for LPUNEST 2026. Candidates can apply and book exam slots till January 16, 2026, through the official website, lpu.in/nest/. The test will be conducted from January 20 to February 5 at test centres and from January 10 to February 5 in remotely proctored mode for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions. The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela students received 1,274 job offers and secured the highest salary of Rs 62.44 lakh in the 2025 placements. The average salary package for BTech stood at Rs 14.10 lakh. 373 recruiters participated in the placement drive, representing software and IT services, manufacturing, BFSI, electronics, and education sectors. The institute will admit students in the 2026-27 session through JEE Mains 2026.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched a model curriculum for a minor engineering degree in defence technology. AICTE chairman T G Sitharaman has urged top 200 institutes to adopt the curriculum which includes studies in aeronautical systems, naval technologies, weapon systems, cybersecurity, and advanced materials.

• Click on “Forgot Password”.
• Choose a method to reset your password—either via OTP sent to your registered mobile number, a link sent to your registered email, or by answering the security question. You will need your application number for verification.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to verify your identity and create a new password. 
• Make sure your new password meets the required criteria with letters, numbers, and symbols.

IIT Roorkee has introduced a 6.5-month online Advanced Certificate in Quantum Computing: Algorithms and AI/ML, offered through its Continuing Education Centre (CEC) in collaboration with TimesPro. The last year's JEE Main 2026 cut-offs have increased slightly by 1% percentile for SC and ST as compared to 2024.

Unreserved male candidates should have to pay Rs 1,000 as registration fee for the JEE Main 2026, while those belonging to General-Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Other Backward Classes (OBC) category must pay Rs 900 as registration charges. 

Other female candidates in the unreserved, general EWS, and OBC category must pay Rs 800, whereas SC, ST, PwD and transgender applicants should pay Rs 500 as registration charges.
