The JEE Main 2026 city slip is not an admit card but allows candidates to plan travel and stay ahead of the session 1 exam, scheduled from January 21 to 29. The testing agency will conduct the JEE Main 2026 session 1 from January 21 to 29 in dual shifts.
The computer-based JEE Mains 2026 will be conducted for a duration of three hours. The forenoon shift will be held from 9 am to 12 noon, while the afternoon shift will take place from 3 pm to 6 pm.
The city intimation slip provides details such as the paper applied for, allotted exam city, and JEE Main 2026 exam date. It is issued to inform candidates in advance about their exam city and schedule.
The NTA will release the JEE Main 2026 session 1 admit card 3 to 4 days before the exam. Candidates can expect the hall ticket to be issued on January 17 or 18.
The NTA has released a notice for JEE Main 2026 candidates about issues related to photos and ID details. It has also extended the photo verification deadline for non-Aadhaar candidates until January 15.

The JEE Main session 1 city intimation slip is not the admit card and cannot be used to enter the exam hall. It only tells candidates which city their exam centre is in, so they can plan their travel and stay in advance.
JEE Main 2026 has three papers: Paper 1 (BE/BTech), Paper 2A (BArch), and Paper 2B (BPlan). Paper 1 has physics, chemistry, and maths with 75 MCQs for 300 marks and is held online. Paper 2A has 77 questions for 400 marks, while the BPlan paper has 100 MCQs for 400 marks.
As per the schedule, the JEE Mains 2026 registration last date is November 27. Candidates who complete the JEE Mains registration 2026 and pay the fee before the deadline will receive the city intimation slip.
The registration for JEE Advanced 2026 will begin on April 23 for candidates who qualify in JEE Main 2026 at jeeadv.ac.in. The exam will be conducted by IIT Roorkee in computer-based mode on May 17, 2026.

Presidency University has decided to stop using the state JEE board for undergraduate admissions and will conduct its own entrance process. Most academic departments prefer to admit students either through their own entrance examinations or based on Class 12 scores. This puts an end to an arrangement under which the JEE board had been handling the entrance examinations and counselling for the university since 2015.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not announced the JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip date and time. However, the official brochure says the city slip will be released in the first week of January 2026, so it is expected to be released today.
