The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to start the registration for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 this month itself on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. Along with the application form, JEE Main 2026 exam date and a detailed information bulletin including exam pattern, syllabus and more will also be announced.

The NTA had earlier said that JEE Main 2026 registration would begin in October ; however, the registration window is yet to open. In the meantime, engineering aspirants can use the JEE Main 2026 registration demo link to familiarise themselves with the application procedure and review eligibility criteria ahead of the official start of registration.

Recently, the testing agency issued an advisory for aspirants , urging candidates to update their Aadhaar, UDID (for PwD candidates), and category certificates (EWS, SC, ST, OBC-NCL) in advance to avoid discrepancies in the JEE Main 2026 application form. The agency clarified that this advisory is not related to exam city allocation and that candidates will still have the option to select their preferred exam centres.

JEE Mains 2025 session 1 registration fee

According to the demo JEE Main 2026 registration link, the registration fee for male candidates from the general category is Rs 1,000, while female candidates are required to pay Rs 800.

For candidates in the Gen-EWS category, the fee is Rs 900 for males and Rs 800 for females. Applicants belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and PwD categories need to pay Rs 500 to apply for the engineering entrance examination.

The JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in two sessions – January and April. The engineering entrance exam is conducted to offer admission to undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and planning across India. It serves as the first stage for candidates aspiring to join various institutes, including National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other centrally funded technical institutions.
