JNVST Admission 2025: Registration begins for Class 6 students; apply by September 16

NEW DELHI: The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has begun the registration process for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2025 today, July 17. Eligible students can fill out the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya admission form for admission to Class 6 for the 2025-26 academic session by visiting the official website, cbseitms.rcil.gov.in.

The last date to fill out the JNVST application form 2025 is September 16. As per the NVS official prospectus, the JNVST 2025 exam will be held on January 18 and April 12, 2025, in various states.
JNVST Admission 2025: Eligibility
Students can check the eligibility criteria for the JNVST exam 2025 before applying for it.

Age Limit: Students should be born between May 1, 2013, and July 31, 2015, inclusive, to be eligible for admission.

Candidates who have passed Class 5 before the session 2024-25 or are repeaters are not eligible to apply.
For rural candidate

At least 75% of district seats will be filled by candidates from rural areas, with the remaining seats open to both urban and rural candidates based on merit.

Candidates applying under the rural quota must have completed Classes 3, 4 and 5 at government or recognised rural schools. They must also have completed Class 5 in the same district where admission is sought.

Candidates from the National Institute of Open Schooling must provide a rural status certificate issued by local authorities confirming three years of residency and study in rural areas.
For urban candidates

A candidate who has attended school in an urban area, even for a single day during the sessions of Classes 3, 4 and 5 will be categorised as an urban candidate.

JNVST Admission 2025: Exam pattern
The JNVST selection test will take place for two hours, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, and consists of three sections with only objective-type questions. There are a total of 80 questions, carrying 100 marks in total.
