JNVST Admission 2026: Class 9, 11 application last date extended again till October 21

The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has extended the deadline for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) Class 9 and 11 till October 21. Candidates can apply for JNVST admissions 2026 on the official website, cbseitms.nic.in.

As per the JNVST admission 2026 schedule, the JNVST lateral entry selection test will be conducted on February 7 for both Classes 9 and 11 . Candidates will be offered admission based on the selection test.

Notably, there is no negative marking in the exam, and admissions will be solely based on vacant seats for the academic year 2026-2027. Currently, there are a total of 653 JNVs functional in 27 States and 08 Union Territories except the state of Tamil Nadu.

The JNVST Class 9 exam pattern includes four subjects, including English, Hindi, Maths, and General Science, with a total of 100 questions comprising 100 marks. The JNVST Class 11 paper will include Mental ability, English, Science, Social Science, Maths, with 100 questions comprising 100 marks.

Both Class 9 and 11 selection tests will be held for 2 hours and 30 minutes.

JNVST Admission 2026: How to apply?

The steps to apply for JNVST admission 2026 are as follows.

  • Visit the official website, cbseitms.nic.in
  • Click on the registration link available for Class 9 or 11.
  • Enter the required credentials and upload a passport-size photograph (10kb to 100kb)
  • Fill in the academic details and upload the signature of student and parent.
  • Check all the details and submit the application form.

Once the list of shortlisted students is published, candidates will have to submit their domicile certificate, education certificate, and birth certificate to confirm their admission. The principal of the concerned JNV will notify selected students about the JNVST result via SMS on the registered mobile number, followed by a speed post.
