Karnataka NEET PG Counselling 2025: Seat allotment logic

Based on the seat matrix issued by the Government, seats will be allotted to candidates according to their eligibility, reservation criteria, and merit. The options entered by candidates will determine allotment, and the computer system will check seat availability for each option based on its priority.

The order of allotment and reservation for each category is outlined for candidates’ reference. Seat allotment will follow these steps:

  • The allotment for a candidate is based on their rank and priority options entered.
  • For any category, the system first searches for available seats in the General Merit (GM) category.
  • If no GM seat is available, the system checks the Hyderabad Karnataka General Merit (GMH) quota.
  • If seats are unavailable in both GM and GMH, the system follows the prescribed priority order for other categories.
  • This process allows for improvement of the category of the seat allotted according to the roster.
  • Reservation categories are considered in a similar manner, improving allotment as per the roster for candidates claiming a reservation.
