The Karnataka School Education Department has issued a correction to the Karnataka Teachers Eligibility Test (KTET) 2025 notification, withdrawing the Bachelor of Education (BEd) eligibility clause for Paper 1 candidates.
According to the official notice, the earlier provision mentioned under item no. 7.2 of the October 18 notification — which allowed candidates with a minimum of 50% marks in graduation and who have passed or are pursuing a BEd degree — has been withdrawn.
“The minimum educational qualification stated as "The last subsection of the ” or "The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in graduation and have passed or be pursuing a B.Ed degree" is hereby withdrawn,” the official notice said.
The revised qualification criteria will now exclude the BEd option for Paper 1, which applies to candidates seeking eligibility to teach Classes 1 to 5. The registration process for Karnataka TET 2025 is ongoing, with the last date to register for the exam being November 9.
The Karnataka TET 2025 will be conducted on December 7. Paper 1 will be held from 9:30 am to 12 noon, while Paper 2 will take place from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. The admit cards for the KARTET 2025 will be available for download from December 1 to December 7, 2025, on the official website of the School Education Department.
The KARTET is conducted to determine eligibility for teaching positions in government, aided, and unaided schools across the state. Paper 1 is for candidates who wish to teach Classes 1 to 5, while Paper 2 is for those aspiring to teach Classes 6 to 8. The exam ensures that teachers meet the minimum qualifications set by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
