Mumbai University CDOE extends registration deadline for distance courses till October 11

The University of Mumbai’s (MU) Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) has extended the registration deadline for distance learning courses till October 11. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements will get direct admission to MU CDOE courses.

In a first, dual degree options are available as per the NEP 2020 policy. The online distance learning offers flexibility of learning, affordable tuition fees for University Grants Commission - Distance Education Bureau (UGC-DEB), and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved courses, which are the strengths of CDOE.

Notably, for the first time, the MA Sociology course has been started online. The special feature of this PG course is that the entire process from admission to examination will be done online. Students will be able to take admission in this course from anywhere.

Interested candidates can apply for MU distance learning courses on the official website, mucdoeadm.samarth.edu.in.

MU CDOE courses available

MU’s distance learning centre offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses for distance learning. The list of courses is given below.

UG Level Courses : Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Geography, Rural Development, Marathi, Hindi, and English. The courses include BCom in commerce, accountancy, and business management; BCom in Accounts and Finance, BSc in Information Technology, and BSc in Computer Science, and admissions to all these courses are being made as per the NEP.

PG Level Courses : Master of Arts (MA) in History, Sociology, Economics, Political Science, Marathi, Hindi, English, Geography, Education, Communication and Journalism, Public Relations); MCom in Advanced Accountancy, MCom in Business Management, MSc in Mathematics, MSc in Information Technology, MSc in Computer Science, MMS, and MCA are the courses included. Along with this, the PG diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM) course is also included.

The centre aims to offer various courses run by the university to students who are unable to complete their college education through formal education due to some difficulties. CDOE has regional centers in Churchgate, Thane, Kalyan, Ratnagiri, and Sawantwadi, where guidance and study materials related to admission are distributed.

Also, recently, student support centers have been established in Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri districts, and a regional center will be started in Palghar soon, said Shivaji Sargar, the director of the CDOE.
