NCAHP urges adoption of curricula for 10 allied healthcare courses by 2026-27

The National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) has issued a circular to state allied healthcare councils and departments seeking to implement curricula for 10 programmes by 2026-27. As per NCAHP directives, institutions offering allied and healthcare professional courses should adopt and implement the NCAHP curricula mandatorily.

As per the NCAHP circular , the universities offering courses in allied and healthcare professions should also constitute a board of studies to ensure appropriate academic governance, effective curriculum implementation, and alignment with standards and norms set by NCAHP.

Furthermore, all state allied and healthcare councils should ensure implementation of directives within their jurisdiction. In states and union territories where the state is allied and the healthcare council has not yet been established, the health departments shall take the responsibility to ensure full compliance and also facilitate the necessary academic and institutional arrangements accordingly.

NCAHP has urged the state allied and healthcare councils and state governments to ensure implementation and to furnish an Action Taken Report (ATR) to the commission within 45 days from the date of issuance of the official NCAHP circular.

Notably, NCAHP directives shall apply to the 10 programmes and also to all such curricula as may be notified or updated by the commission from time to time, the official NCAHP notice read.
