NEET MDS 2025 cut-off percentiles reduced after health ministry order; ranks remain unchanged

NEET MDS Revised Cut-Off 2025: Candidates in the UR, EWS category revised cut-off score is 197. For General-PwBD candidates, the revised score is 182, while SC, ST, and OBC candidates, including PwBD, revised cut-off is 168.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), New Delhi, has revised the cut-off scores for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - Master of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS 2025). As per the revised NEET MDS 2025 cut-off, the minimum qualifying percentiles for all categories have been reduced by 19.863 percentiles.

“In accordance with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India letter No. NO.V.12025/84/2024-DE dated 10th August 2025, the minimum qualifying percentiles have been lowered by 19.863 percentile for each category (General, SC/ST/OBC, and UR-PWD), in pursuance of the DCI’s MDS Regulations, 2017 and the 2nd proviso in clause 7(1) of DCI's Master of Dental Surgery Course (1st Amendment) Regulations, 2018,” the official notice said.

NEET-MDS 2025 candidates from the general category, including unreserved (UR) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS), now require a 30.137 percentile instead of the earlier 50 percentile. For General-Persons with Benchmark Disability (General-PwBD) candidates, the minimum qualifying percentile has been lowered to 25.137 from 45.

For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backwards Classes (OBC), including Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), the qualifying percentile is 20.137, reduced from the previous 40 percentile. The original NEET MDS 2025 result was declared on May 15, 2025.

No Change in NEET-MDS 2025 Ranks: NBEMS

NBEMS clarified that there is no change in the ranks as published in the result notification dated May 15, 2025. Candidature remains provisional and is subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria mentioned in the NEET-MDS 2025 Information Bulletin, including verification of Face ID/Biometric where applicable.

“It may be noted that there is no change in the NEET-MDS 2025 rank as published vide NBEMS result notification dated 15.05.2025,” the notice said.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is currently conducting NEET-MDS 2025 counselling. While the ranks of candidates remain unchanged, NBEMS has not provided any official guidance on whether this revision will affect ongoing counselling or seat allocation.
