A total of 2,337 postgraduate medical seats have been approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) for the NEET PG 2025 counselling this year, in addition to the 49,907 seats already available. As per the latest NEET PG seat matrix for the academic year 2025-26, Karnataka has added the highest of 422 new seats.

The latest details of the NMC-approved seat matrix were made public by the Gujarat Admission Committee for Professional Post Graduate Medical Courses (ACPPGMEC). This brings the total number of seats to 52,244.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) conducted the NEET PG exam in a single shift following the Supreme Court order. Over 2 lakh candidates registered for the exam, of which 1.28 lakh qualified. This means that, only 2 out of 5 are likely to secure a seat in NEET PG counselling 2025.

While the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has started the registration process for the MCC NEET PG counselling for All India Quota (AIQ) seats, the complete schedule for all four rounds is yet to be finalized.

The NEET PG counselling dates 2025 for AIQ and state quota will be uploaded on the official website, mcc.nic.in.
