NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) has debarred a total of 191 candidates from participating in AP NEET PG counselling 2025 . 22 candidates who were allotted seats in the stray or special stray vacancy rounds but did not report to their respective colleges, and 169 candidates who discontinued their courses have been rendered ineligible for MD, MS admissions.

A survey conducted by FAIMA including students, teachers, and doctors in medical colleges has revealed disturbing conditions of the MBBS, PG residents. Around 73.9% medical students have reported excessive clerical workload while over 40% described their work environment toxic, as per the survey results. Moreover, only 50% of the respondents confirmed that they were receiving stipends on time.

The Directorate of Medical Education and Research will close the portal for candidates who have been declared ineligible to submit grievances and upload the documents for MD, MS admissions through NEET PG counselling 2025. 921 students have been barred from participating in the counselling process under different quotas.

The NEET PG cut-offs were not declared last year, as NBEMS adopted the normalisation method to calculate the percentile since the exam was held in two shifts .

NMC has planned to introduce third-party evaluations and public ratings for medical colleges from the next academic year onwards, the NMC chairperson BN Gangadhar revealed. As per the Gujarat Admission Committee for Professional Post Graduate Medical Courses (ACPPGMEC), NMC has approved 49,907 PG medical seats for NEET PG counselling 2025. Separately, 2,337 new seats have been added to the seat matrix for the academic year 2025-26.

NMC has recently clarified that the medical colleges offering postgraduate courses are not required to seek fresh recognition of seats. But they have to furnish the annual disclosure report as well as the course-wise fee. The clarification came after requests filed by medical colleges for recognition of MD, MS and other PG courses.

In a disturbing privacy breach, the personal details of over 1.38 lakh NEET PG aspirants have reportedly been leaked and sold online for Rs 3,599. The incident came to light after a NEET PG candidate raised concerns on Reddit, claiming that a Telegram channel was offering the complete data of all aspirants for Rs 15,000.

Senior doctors in government medical colleges in Kerala boycotted outpatient services (OP) over various long-pending demands including salary and new posts. The doctors raised staff shortage concerns. Junior postgraduates and resident doctors were available.

148 candidates have been debarred from participating in the Uttar Pradesh National Eligibility Entrance Test Postgraduate (UP NEET PG) 2025 counselling for not joining the allotted seats and leaving the courses mid-way last year. Just like NEET UG, MCC has announced priority-based seat allotment system for Non-Resident Indian (NRI) candidates. There will be two categories -- priority 1 and priority 2. While NRI aspirants and children of NRIs will be given first priority, first and second degree relatives will then be allotted seats.

The Maharashtra government is likely to ease the mandatory one-year bond service rule for MBBS graduates applying for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Post Graduate (NEET PG) counselling. Currently, the students are allowed to pursue the PG medical courses without first completing the service at rural hospitals in the state.

Students who take admission in medical colleges in Karnataka must work for one year in a government hospital after finishing their MBBS. Those who join through government or AIQ seats for PG courses also have to work for the government for three years after completing their course.

At the time of admission, students must sign a bond (legal agreement) promising to do this service. If they choose to leave the course in between, they will have to pay a fine:

• Rs 10 lakh for medical and dental degree courses
• Rs 4 lakh for PG diploma courses

This rule is set by the government to ensure students serve in government hospitals after their studies.

KEA has announced the admission rules and fee details of St John’s Medical College Bengaluru affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) for admission to postgraduate (PG) medical courses. The institute offers 131 MD and MS courses through Karnataka NEET PG 2025 counselling. The seats have been divided into 4 categories as shown in the table below.

Medical Officers recruited through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) or the Medical Services Recruitment Board (MRB), through competitive or qualifying examinations, and appointed under the Tamil Nadu Medical Services, must have completed a minimum of two years of continuous service as of March 31, 2025.

Similarly, Medical Officers serving in local bodies within Tamil Nadu are also required to have completed at least two years of uninterrupted service by the same date.

Candidates applying under the state quota who choose to discontinue their course after the permissible resignation period will be liable to pay a penalty of up to Rs 15 lakh. This amount must be paid via a Demand Draft drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai–10.”

The discontinuation fee is Rs 10 lakh for PG diploma courses and Rs 15 lakh for PG degree courses.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the seat matrix for the Gujarat NEET PG 2025 counselling for admission to MD, MS programmes at various colleges across the state. Over 1.28 lakh candidates qualified out of more than 2 lakh who appeared for the exam. Gujarat has published its seat matrix ahead of other states, while the final All India Quota (AIQ) and state seat lists will be updated on the MCC portal. Under the proposed policy, candidates will be required to sign a bond of Rs 50 lakh at the time of admission. Upon completion of their postgraduate course, doctors must serve for two years in assigned hospitals.

The NBEMS has cancelled the NEET PG results of 22 candidates spanning five exam sessions from 2021 to 2025. Of these, 13 candidates had their results cancelled this year, for using unfair means.

All candidates admitted to PG medical courses under KNRUHS must sign a bond on Rs 100 stamped paper, agreeing to abide by university regulations. If a candidate discontinues the course after the second phase of counselling or later, they will be required to pay a penalty of Rs 50 lakh and will be barred from participating in PG counselling for three years. This measure aims to prevent seat blocking and ensure that candidates complete their courses.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved 49,907 PG medical seats for NEET PG counselling 2025, with an additional 2,337 new seats added for the 2025-26 academic year. Gujarat, which started its counselling earlier than other states, has published the NMC-approved seat matrix, while the final seat matrix for All India Quota and other states will be released on the MCC portal. The PwD verification process for NEET PG 2025 candidates has started. The portal for PwD candidates – pgdocs25.tnmedicalonline.co.in/pggqpwd – will also remain open until October 23. Candidates applying for NEET PG counselling 2025 under the PwD category should carry:

The NBEMS recently disqualified 13 candidates for cheating and cancelled 22 results. Additionally, the personal data of 1.38 lakh candidates was reportedly leaked, raising data security concerns.

The MCC has updated the All India Quota admission bond and fee structure, including a hike in the AFMS bond to Rs 59 lakh. Discontinuing courses midway may incur penalties: Rs 19.66 lakh per incomplete year or Rs 11.8 lakh for leaving AFMS before the five-year bond period.

For 2025, MCC introduced a priority-based system for NRI quota seats. Priority 1 covers NRI candidates and their children, while Priority 2 includes first-degree relatives (uncles, aunts, grandparents) and second-degree relatives (cousins), as per official guidelines.
