Parakram Diwas 2023: Schools, colleges to celebrate Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary today

January 23 is celebrated as Parakram Diwas to mark the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
NEW DELHI: January 23 is the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The nation celebrates January 23 as Parakram Diwas. The ministry of education will be organising drawing and painting competitions under Pariksha pe Charcha 2023 in 500 different Kendriya Vidyalayas across India today to mark Parakram Diwas 2023 . The University Grants Commission (UGC) had also asked the higher educational institutions (HEIs) to make the students aware of Parakram Diwas and encourage them to take part in competitions arranged as part of it.
The nation-wide drawing and painting competition under Pariksha pe Charcha 2023 will be witnessed by participation of students from CBSE schools, state boards, Navodaya Vidyalayas and Kendriya Vidyalayas. The five best entries will be awarded a set of books on freedom fighters and topics of national importance along with a certificate.
This year special competitions as part of Netaji’s birth anniversary for school and university students are being organised and winners will be invited to attend the Republic Day 2023 parade.
The Ministry of Defence organised four activities on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at MyGov platform. College students were able to participate in the poem writing competition, poster competition, essay competition and selfie competition by January 20.
“Winners will also get an opportunity to visit the Republic Day parade. Travel and lodgings will be provided to the winners,” UGC added.
