Jessica Turner, QS CEO, said, “India's academic prowess is illustrated through remarkable research output and an exceptional number of PhD-trained faculty, setting a benchmark for regional and global peers while enhancing the international reputation of its universities.”
“However, while India’s outbound mobile student population enriches campuses the world over, attracting international students remains a challenge, reflected by QS’ International Students indicator, one of only two metrics in which most of its universities have dropped,” she added.
Noting the rise in regional and global reputation of the leading Indian universities, combined with the introduction of new policies encouraging foreign universities to establish and operate campuses in India, she hopes that India will achieve its goal of hosting half a million international students by 2047.
