The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has concluded the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2025 tier 1 day 5 exam today, September 16, in three shifts. According to students' reaction, the CGL 2025 shift 1 paper was moderate in difficulty level. The English section had lengthy comprehension, while the reasoning questions were easy to solve.
As per the latest SSC updates, the CGL 2025 exam will now be held in 227 centres. The SSC CGL 2025 exam is scheduled from September 12 to 26.
SSC CGL 2025 exam is being held in 4 shifts, including an optional shift at selected exam centres. The shift 1 timings are from 9 am to 10 am, shift 2 from 11:35 am to 12:45 pm, shift 3 from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm, and the optional shift from 5:15 pm to 6:15 pm.
More than 28 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the SSC CGL exams 2025. As per the SSC’s data shared, so far 3,01,722 candidates have appeared for the exam. All 7,705 affected candidates have already been rescheduled for alternate dates.
Out of a total of 2,435 shifts across all the centres, only 25 shifts in some centres have been cancelled. Earlier, the recruitment exam was scheduled to be held in 260 centres in 129, however, the commission said the exams are now being held in 227 centres.

SSC officials have assured that the exam process remains on track and candidates who were affected by the cancellation have already been given alternate dates. Candidates appearing for the SSC CGL 2025 exam can download their admit card on the official website, ssc.gov.in.
The phase 1 recruitment exam is being held for 14,582 vacancies, of which 6,183 posts are reserved for general, 3,721 for OBC, 2,167 for SC, 1,088 for ST, and 1,423 for the EWS category candidates.

SSC has now adopted the equipercentile method for normalisation after reviewing the effectiveness of the earlier method. Under the new equipercentile system, SSC CGL scores will be adjusted based on candidates’ ranks or percentiles within their respective shifts rather than using averages and score variation. According to another student from Delhi, Sidharth Mishra, the paper was moderate in difficulty level. Two questions in the English section in the para jumble were repetitive, and the passage was lengthy. In the maths sections, questions were asked from algebra. He did not face any technical or management problems in the exam centre.
