SSC opens facility to review question paper, answers; CGL tier 1 re-exam 2025 admit card on October 9

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has rolled out a facility for candidates to view their own question papers, responses, and the correct answers, allowing them to challenge the answer key with evidence. Also, candidates appearing for the re-exam can view the city slip from October 5 and the admit card from October 9 onwards.

Notably, to make it easier for candidates, the SSC has reduced the fee for challenging questions from Rs 100 to Rs 50.

Around 28 lakh candidates applied for the SSC CGL 2025 exam , with nearly 13.5 lakh appeared across 126 cities and 255 centres in 45 shifts. While some centres experienced technical issues, the commission has announced a re-exam for affected candidates on October 14 . The process for challenging questions will open the next day, October 15

The concerned candidates will be informed individually via email and SMS.

SSC’s new helpline, X account

Along with the existing toll-free helpline, 1800-309-3063, a new online feedback and complaint portal has also been launched, so candidates can get their issues resolved more quickly. Additionally, to improve direct communication with aspirants, SSC has launched its official handle on X, @SSC_GoI. The commission has urged candidates to rely only on official announcements and not to be influenced by misleading information circulating online.

SSC CGL 2025: New normalisation method

The new equi-percentile normalisation method compared candidates based on their percentile scores rather than their raw marks. It removes any advantage or disadvantage that may arise from variation in difficulty levels across different exam shifts. For instance, if one batch of candidates gets a slightly tough paper than another, normalisation ensures that results remain fair across all groups.

As the commission approaches its Golden Jubilee year, it highlights its commitment to ensure transparency and fairness in recruitment. “The reforms introduced are intended to benefit lakhs of sincere candidates and to uphold the integrity of examinations,” officials said.

SSC's zero tolerance for malpractices

SSC has made exam fairness a top priority. To stop cheating and impersonation, SSC has started using Aadhaar-based verification, making sure no one takes the exam more than once. The question papers are now sent safely through a digital system to prevent paper leaks.

Furthermore, the commission has also hired expert IT companies to prevent hacking and other unfair practices. Officials say that exam monitoring has become tighter, and strict action is being taken against both centres and candidates who break the rules.

SSC’s upcoming plan

The commission has also launched its plans for the upcoming exam. According to the official PIB notice, between October 2025 and March 2026, major exams, including the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSLE), Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS), Junior Engineer (JE), Constable (Delhi Police and CAPFs), Sub-Inspector (Delhi Police & CAPFs), and technical cadre exams of Delhi Police, will be held. As per officials, the reforms already in place will ensure that these tests are fair and candidate-friendly.
