SSC CHSL 2025 exam date revised to November 12; self-slot selection begins today

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has revised the exam date for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) recruitment for 3,131 Group C vacancies. The self-slot selection facility will be made available from today on the official website, ssc.gov.in.

The commission recently announced the introduction of the self-slot selection system, which will allow candidates to choose their preferred exam city, date, and shift. It also informed candidates that the recruitment exam, which was scheduled to be conducted between September 8 and 18, will now be held from November 12.

The SSC CHSL exam schedule 2025 is expected to be notified soon before the publication of the admit card. The recruitment exam is conducted to fill 3,131 Group C vacancies. Candidates who have qualified Class 12 and are in the age category between 18 and 27 will be eligible for posts like Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), postal assistant, sorting assistant, and data entry operator (DEO).

How to self-select slots for SSC CHSL 2025?

Applicants will have to login into the SSC candidate portal using the credentials generated during registration. Candidates will be allowed to select their choice of city out the 3 options submitted by them during the application process. They will also be able to choose their preferred SSC CHSL exam date and shift.

The portal to self-select slots will be opened today and will remain active till October 28. After logging in, the dashboard will display the availability of slots on various dates and shifts in those cities. Candidates can choose any available date and a specific shift at a city as per their choice.

“It is to be noted that for the candidates who have opted to take examinations in regional languages, the choices of dates and shifts may be limited,” it said.

If all the slots in the three cities opted by them are filled up, the candidate will be given a list of optional cities to choose any one where slots are available. For such candidates, “on the best effort basis, the commission will slot the candidate for that city, without any specific choice for date and shift”.
