Download EBookThe Director General of Medical Education and Training, UP has issued guidelines for resignation of seats for round 1, and 2 for the Uttar Pradesh National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Master of Dental Surgery (UP NEET MDS 2025) today. The directives also include rules regarding online counselling of round 3.
Candidates who have been allotted seats in the first and second round of the
UP NEET MDS 2025
counselling can resign from their seats from 5 pm on August 9. Such aspirants can submit their resignation by appearing at the nodal centre.
According to the guidelines for round 3, the round 3 seat allotment result will be on the basis of the merit list. Candidates who have not been allotted seats in the
round 1, 2
will not have to pay the security amount to participate in the UP NEET
MDS
2025 counselling.
“If the candidates allotted from the second cycle counseling do not take admission or resign after admission, the entire security amount deposited by the candidate will be confiscated. Therefore, if such candidates want to participate in the third cycle counseling, then they can participate in the third cycle counseling only after depositing the security amount again,” the official notice read.
The guidelines further elaborates that the vacant and resigned seats of second round will be shown to the candidates as ‘clear-cut’ vacancy in the choice filling of the

round 3. Besides, the Seat Against Cancellation (SAC) will also be available for the candidates.
UP NEET MDS 2025 Counselling: What is the SAC option?
The Seat Against Cancellation (SAC) are the virtual vacancy options. If an allotted seat has been upgraded, it will be allotted to another candidate on the basis of merit or option as per rules.
Candidates must note that it is mandatory for them to lock their choice after choice filling as failing to do so will result in disqualification from the seat allotment process.
“If any other seat is allotted as per the option given by the candidate for re-allocation, then the previously allotted seat will automatically become vacant and will be allotted to some other candidate. In case of no re-allocation, the seat previously admitted by the candidate will remain as it is,” as per the guidelines.
Notably, registered applicants must fill their choice of programme and college by leaving the option of the previously admitted seat for re-allocation. In doing so, the previous admitted seat will be allotted again and the candidate will have to appear at the nodal centre for the admission process.

Rules for security deposit in government, private dental institutes
Those who will be allotted seats for admission to MDS programmes at various colleges across the state in the round 3 UP NEET MDS counselling 2025 will have to get admission to their allotted institutes. By failing to do so, their security amount will be confiscated.
Candidates must be aware that if they have been allotted seats in the government dental colleges in the first or second round of counselling and do not take admission after re-allocation in the third round, their entire security deposit and fees will be forfeited.
While in the similar case of private colleges, the entire security deposit and 50% of the tuition fee will be forfeited.
“Candidates allotted to private sector dental colleges will have to deposit the CTS bank draft of the tuition fee determined by the government, which is issued in favour of Director General, Medical Education & Training, U.P. (Director General Medical Education & Training U.P payable at Lucknow) at the concerned nodal centre, otherwise the admission will be considered automatically cancelled,” the guidelines read.
The medical examination by the medical board constituted at the dental college or nodal centre is mandatory for each candidate to complete the admission process.
