Download EBookThe UP NEET UG 2025 seat allotment result for round 3 has been postponed until further orders, the Department of Medical Education and Training, Uttar Pradesh, said. The round 3 seat allotment for UP NEET UG counselling, which was scheduled to be declared today has been deferred following instructions from the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
The decision to postpone the UP NEET UG seat allotment was taken in line with the Supreme Court order in contempt petition no. 289 of 2022 in WP No. 223 of 2022 Shubhankar Patnaik Vs. K. Ramesh Reddy & Ors – which directed all state counselling committees to filter out all candidates who have already joined All India Quota (AIQ) seats.
The UP NEET round 3 counselling schedule has been revised multiple times due to extension of the MCC NEET UG counselling . The state admission rounds for MBBS and BDS is conducted only after the AIQ seats are filled to avoid seat blocking, multiple allotments to a single student, and to ensure eligible candidates are not deprived of opportunity.
Due to the addition of new MBBS seats for the academic year 2025-26 by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the third round admission process has been extended across states. The MCC informed the DME UP that the provision for resignation has been closed for AIQ and directed state counselling authorities to weed out the joined candidates before processing seats for round 3.
A total of 34,556 candidates have qualified to compete for 962 MBBS seats in the UP NEET UG round 3 counselling, as per the data shared earlier.
DME UP will remove candidates already allotted seats to avoid offering candidates who are ineligible for state quota. “State counselling authorities can download the list of joined candidates from the data sharing portal of MCC after 1st November 2025,” the MCC said.
As the list of AIQ candidates joined in round 3 will only be available after November 1, the UP NEET UG round 3 allotment is expected to be announced in the first week or later. However, officials have not yet announced a tentative date for the allotment.
