NEW DELHI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2025 notification and commenced the registration for the exam today, September 18. Eligible aspirants can apply for UPSC ESE 2025 by visiting the official website, upsconline.nic.in. The last date to fill UPSC ESE application form 2025 is October 8.
UPSC ESE notification 2025 mentions steps to apply, reservation policy, examination centres, eligibility criteria, exam pattern, and syllabi.
UPSC ESE Prelims 2025 will be held on February 9 for recruitment to 232 vacancies in various posts of civil, mechanical, electrical, and electronics and communication engineering.

UPSC ESE 2025: Instructions for registration
The commission issued the following instructions for uploading the photograph while filling the application form:
- The photograph uploaded by candidate should not be more than 10 days old from the commencement of the online application process.
- Ensure that the name of the candidate and the date on which the photograph was taken are clearly mentioned on the photograph.
- The candidate’s face should occupy three-fourth of the space in the photograph.
- The candidates must ensure that their appearance must match with their photograph at each stage of the examination process including preliminary (stage-I), Main (stage-II) and interview or personality test. For example, if a candidate uploads a bearded photograph, he must appear with the same look in all the stages. Same rule would apply to spectacles, moustaches, etc.
