There are a total of 51,952 seats in West Bengal colleges and universities offering engineering, technology, architecture, and pharmacy courses. Of which, 48,066 seats are filled using the WBJEE scores.
As per the WBJEE seat matrix 2025, 38,913 seats are available for open category, 4,579 for EWS, over 2,300 for OBC, 3,468 for SC, 932 for ST, and 1,382 under the tuition fee waiver (TFW) scheme.
The WBJEE results were earlier put on hold due to legal scrutiny over OBC reservation, delaying the admission process for this academic year. However, after the Calcutta High Court instructed the board to issue a fresh merit list based on the old policy, the WBJEE counselling resumed on August 27.
Candidates allotted college in the second round will have to pay a WBJEE seat acceptance fee of Rs 5,000 to confirm their allotment. Following this, they are required to report to the allotted college for document verification.
“Candidates must contact the Institute/visit their web site to know their timings and detailed requirements for admission," the board said.
WBJEE college reporting for the second round will be held between September 9 to 14, as per the schedule. During this period, those who wish to withdraw their allotted seat or from the counselling can opt for the exit option.
Seats remaining vacant after the WBJEE round 2 counselling will be filled through a final mop-up round.
