WBSSC SLST Group C, D registration begins for 8,477 posts; apply by December 3

The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has begun the registration process for the 1st State Level Selection Test (SLST) 2025 recruitment exam. Eligible candidates can register for the WB SLST 2025 exam through the official website at old.westbengalssc.com.

The recruitment drive aims to fill 8,477 non-teaching vacancies under Group C and Group D categories. Of these, 2,989 vacancies are for clerk posts, while 5,488 are for Group D positions. The deadline to register for the WB SLST exam is December 3, 2025.

Candidates applying for Group C and Group D posts are required to pay an application fee of Rs 400 for General, Other Backwards Class (OBC), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories, and Rs 150 for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates.

The WBSSC SLST 2025 exam is tentatively scheduled for January 2026, with exact dates to be announced later. Admit cards for the WBSSC 1st SLST will be available seven days before the exam.

WBSSC SLST Registration 2025: Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for the WBSSC SLST recruitment exam 2025 is given below.

Age criteria

  • The minimum age required for both posts is 18 years.
  • The maximum age allowed is 40 years as on January 1, 2025.
  • The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates.
  • A relaxation of 3 years is applicable for Other Backwards Class (OBC) candidates.
  • A relaxation of 8 years is applicable for Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates.
  • The age of candidates will be calculated as of January 1, 2025.

Educational qualification

Clerk

  • Candidates should have passed the School Final/Madhyamik examination or an equivalent qualification.
  • An old Higher Secondary qualification obtained in lieu of Madhyamik is also acceptable.
  • The required qualification must be acquired on or before the last date for submitting the online application.

Group D

  • Candidates should have passed Class 8 from a school recognised or affiliated with any Board or Council.
  • Equivalent qualifications will also be considered valid.
  • The qualification must be obtained on or before the last date for submitting the online application.
