Subscribe NowAllahabad University PG Admission 2026 : The University of Allahabad (AU) has opened the AU Postgraduate Admission Test (PGAT 2026) registration process for PG admissions 2026-27. Eligible students can apply for AU PGAT registration 2026 on the official website, aupravesh2026.cbtexam.in, by May 25. Notably, the university has made some minor changes in eligibility and admission criteria for the candidates.
According to the official Allahabad University notice, students must enter the correct subject codes while filling out the PGAT form, and also check the required eligibility criteria before applying for the PG admission test. Also, foreign nationals can apply for the AU PGAT 2026, and they are not required to appear for the entrance test.
AU PGAT 2026 exam date is yet to be announced by the university.
Applicants willing to apply for the MBA or MBA (RD) courses must take an extra test administered by the respective department. Additionally, the MSc agriculture course has been renamed as MSC agricultural microbiology.
Allahabad University: Changes in admission criteria
For all the PG applicants applying under sports quota admission , a fitness test (50m sprint, 1000m running, overhead ball throw, and standing broad jump) is compulsory; if found unsatisfactory in terms of fitness parameters, the candidature will not be considered.
Further, National Cadet Corps (NCC) weightage and sports quota will not be applicable in BEd, MEd, MBA, and MBA (RD) courses.
AU PGAT 2026: Exam Pattern
Allahabad University PGAT 2026 exam comprises 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) totaling 300 marks, with no penalties for incorrect answers. The test is divided into two segments: a compulsory section of 50 questions covering general awareness, English, Hindi, logical reasoning, and mental ability, required for all programs except LLM, BEd, MEd, and MBA, and a remaining section will be tailored to the applicant's specific field of study.

AU PGAT Application Fee 2026
The AU PGAT 1 application fee 2026 is Rs 1,000 for unreserved, EWS, and OBC categories, and Rs 500 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates. The registration fee for PGAT 2 courses is Rs 1,600 for unreserved, EWS, and OBC categories, and Rs 800 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
