BHU PG Admission 2025: Candidates who have secured a seat or frozen their seat in earlier counselling rounds are not eligible to participate in the spot round.
Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, will commence the registration process for the spot round of admissions to postgraduate (PG) programmes today, August 12, 2025. Eligible candidates can register for the BHU PG 2025 spot round admission through the official website at bhucuetpg.samarth.edu.in.
As per the official notice, the registration window will remain open till August 17, 2025. The spot round will offer admissions against vacant seats across various PG courses. The seat allotment will be based on merit among candidates who register for this round.
Candidates who have not registered for the BHU PG counselling 2025 so far are eligible to apply in the spot round. Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 500 to complete their registration process. Candidates who registered for the BHU PG counselling process but were not offered any seat during the regular round allotment are also eligible to register for the spot round.
As per the institute, candidates who were offered seats in previous counselling rounds but could not deposit the fee within the stipulated time can participate. Those who deposited the fee but had their admissions cancelled, withdrawn, or rejected during verification are also eligible. These candidates can also alter or add new programmes based on the availability of vacant seats.

Candidates who have secured a seat or frozen their seat in earlier counselling rounds are not eligible to participate in the spot round. Furthermore, the online portal for admitted candidates will be frozen from noon on August 12, 2025, disabling options to upgrade or withdraw seats. The BHU further states that candidates should review the availability of seats and eligibility criteria before applying.
For programmes involving group discussions, personal interviews, practicals, or performance-based tests, only waitlisted candidates who have already appeared in these assessments will be allowed to participate in the spot round.
“In the GD-PI/ Practical/Performance-based Test courses, only the waitlisted candidates will be allowed to register for the Spot Round, who have already appeared for GD-PI/ Practical/Performance-based Test,” the official notice said.
