CAT 2025 will be held on November 30 in three sessions as a computer-based test for admissions to MBA and fellow or doctorate programmes in the B-schools across the country. The exam will be administered in 170 cities.
Are you eligible for CAT 2025?
Before applying for the MBA entrance exam, ensure that you fulfill the CAT 2025 eligibility criteria. The aspirants are required to fulfill any one of the following conditions:
- Candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% marks in case of SC, ST, and PwD categories).
- Candidates who have completed a professional degree such as CA, CS, CMA, Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI) with required percentage.
- Candidates should be in the final year of their bachelor’s programme.
Important: Candidates are advised to maintain a valid email address and mobile number throughout the entire selection process.
CAT 2025 registration fee
With CAT 2025 registration comes the mandatory fee payment without which the CAT application form will be incomplete. CAT registration fee 2025 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates is Rs 1,300 whereas all other applicants are required to pay Rs 2,600.
CAT Registration 2025: Step-by-step guide
CAT registration 2025 includes generation of user ID and password, filling of the application form, and fee payment. Remember that all fields marked with the asterisk symbol are mandatory and gather all the information beforehand. CAT application form contains six compulsory sections.
During the registration process, candidates will be required to upload the scanned images of their passport-size photograph and signature. The photo should be in a white background and not more than six months old.
Here’re detailed instructions to fill the CAT application form 2025:
Step 1: Go to the official website, iimcat.ac.in, and click on the register button under the ‘New Candidate Registration’ tab on the homepage. Read the instructions and move on to registration. Enter name (as on Class 10 certificate), date of birth, email address, mobile number. Click on the ‘generate OTP’ button. You will be redirected to fill and submit OTP sent on your mobile number. User ID and password will be sent on the registered email and mobile number.
Step 2: Now, login with the generated credentials by clicking on the login button under ‘Registered Candidate Login’ tab. Candidates’ details will be displayed. On the dashboard, click on the ‘Go to application form’ tab on the top right corner.

Step 3: The application form is divided into six sections – personal details, academics, work experience, programmes, test city, and declaration. Read the instructions before filling the information. You can logout and exit the form any number of times to edit and complete later or save and continue each section till you submit the application.
- Personal Information: Enter your personal details such as name, category, gender, nationality and upload documents including scanned images of passport size photograph and signature as well as valid SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD certificate.
- Academics: Key in details of SSC or 10th, HSC or 12th, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and other professional degrees.
- Work Experience: Enter your experience in days as on July 31, 2025. Only full-time experience after graduation must be entered. Part-time, project, internship, articleship, pre-graduation will not be counted as work experience.
- Programmes: Select the programmes and the interview city preferences.
- Test City: Select five test cities as per your preference.
- Declaration: Before making payment, preview the application form. Make payment via debit card or credit card or net banking or UPI. Save the payment transaction number displayed along with the ‘payment successful’ message on the screen.
