What IIT Guwahati MTech offers?

This course will allow students to find careers in government agencies, international organisations, consultancy firms, and research institutions, as per an official statement.
The new MTech programme at IIT-G follows the multiple entry-exit pattern with recognised certificate options. Students who exit the course at any stage will be allowed to rejoin and continue their studies after a one-year gap.
- After completion of four courses - PG certificate in ‘Basics in Flood and Water Resources Management’
- After completion of seven courses - PG diploma in flood and water resources management

- After completion of four semesters, all courses, and capstone projects - MTech Flood and Water Resources Management
The course is launched for an initiative under an agreement between the institute and the Water Resources Department of Assam. The initiative, led by Assam Flood and River Erosion Management Agency (FREMAA), and backed by World Bank , aims to nominate 20 engineers for the programme every year, to build a “flood-resilient” Assam.
