MPSC prelims exam 2025 postponed to November 9 due to floods and heavy rain

MPSC Exam 2025 Postponed: The state government asked MPSC to delay the exam to ensure candidates are not affected by disrupted connectivity. Other state-level competitive exams for technical and non-technical posts are also postponed.
The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has postponed the Maharashtra civil services combined preliminary examination 2025. The change is due to flood-like conditions in several districts and heavy rainfall warnings from the State Meteorological Department.
As per the official announcement, the MPSC prelims exam 2025 will now be conducted on November 9, 2025. The exam was originally scheduled for September 28, 2025. The commission states that connectivity between villages and talukas has been disrupted in several districts.
The state government requested the MPSC to postpone the examination to ensure that no candidate is prevented from appearing due to adverse conditions.
“To ensure that no candidate is deprived of the opportunity to appear for the examination, the government, based on its letter No. Maloa-1125/Pr. Cr. 236/Maloa, Dated September 26, 2025, requested the Commission to postpone the examination,” the official notice said.
MPSC has further confirmed that the Group-B (Non-Gazetted) Services Combined Preliminary Examination – 2025, which was originally scheduled to be held on November 9, 2025, will have its revised date notified separately through a corrigendum.

State-level competitive exam 2025 postponed
In a separate notice, the state-level competitive examination 2025 for technical and non-technical posts under direct recruitment in government and dental colleges and affiliated hospitals, conducted under the Department of Medical Education and Pharmaceuticals, has also been postponed.
The said exam, which was earlier scheduled to be held on September 25 and 26, 2025, has been deferred due to flood-like situations and heavy rainfall. The revised schedule will be published soon.
“Due to extremely heavy rainfall in several parts of Maharashtra, including Solapur district, resulting in an emergency flood situation, the examinations scheduled for September 25 and 26, 2025, have been postponed. The revised schedule will be notified shortly,” the official notice said.
The Nanded administration has also announced a holiday for all educational institutions today following an orange alert for heavy rainfall. The order, applies to anganwadis, government and private schools, ashram schools, colleges, private coaching centres, and vocational training institutes.
