National Overseas Scholarship 2024 for ST students opens; apply by May 31

The scholarship will be granted to students who pursue higher studies abroad at the master's level, PhD, and post-doctoral research programmes.
NEW DELHI: The ministry of tribal affairs, government of India, has invited applications for the National Overseas Scholarship Scheme (NOS) for scheduled tribe (ST) candidates for the academic year 2024-25. The NOS scholarship will be awarded to selected students for pursuing higher studies abroad at master's level, PhD, and post-doctoral research programmes.
The NOS scholarship application process is underway and the last date to fill out the application form is May 31. Candidates can fill out the NOS scholarship form 2024 through the national overseas portal, overseas.tribal.gov.in.
The official website says, “Every year 20 fresh ST students are given scholarships for pursuing master's degrees, PhD, and post-doctoral courses abroad. The portal is integrated with a digital locker and fetches documents already available there and also has the facility to upload documents not available on Digilocker.”
Each year, 20 awards will be granted to ST students as follows:

30% of the scholarship awards are designated for female candidates. If there aren't enough eligible female candidates, the remaining slots will be open to eligible male candidates.

National Overseas Scholarship 2024: Eligibility
To be considered for this scholarship, the candidate's total family income should not exceed Rs 6 lakh per annum. Candidates can check the eligibility criteria for National Overseas Scholarship 2024 given below.
