Enrol NowThe National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to scrap the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 examination held on May 3 following inputs received from investigative agencies over paper leak. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has now taken custody of individuals accused in the alleged NEET UG 2026 paper leak case. NEET re-exam 2026 update
As per NTA’s official notification, the decision to cancel the medical entrance examination was approved by the Government of India to ensure fairness, integrity and public confidence in the examination process.
The agency stated that a fresh NEET UG 2026 examination will be conducted, and revised exam dates will be announced separately on the official NEET portal. Details regarding the release of new admit cards will also be shared later.
NTA clarified that candidates will not be required to submit fresh applications for the re-examination. Existing registration details, candidature information and previously selected exam cities will continue to remain valid for the upcoming test cycle.
The testing agency further confirmed that no extra fee will be collected from candidates for the re-NEET examination. Additionally, the examination fees paid earlier will be refunded, while the re-exam process will be managed internally by NTA.
NEET UG 2026: Paper leak probe
