Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 registration deadline extended to October 11; winners to be awarded Rs 1 crore

Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 will engage students from Classes 6 to 12 across 2.5 lakh schools. Participants will develop solutions under four national themes.
The Ministry of Education has extended the last date to register for the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025. Eligible students from Classes 6 to 12 can now submit their application form for the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 till October 11 through their respective schools.
Earlier, the deadline to complete the registration process was October 6. As per the official schedule, the nationwide live Buildathon will be held on October 13, followed by the evaluation of entries in November and the announcement of winners in December 2025.
The Buildathon is a nationwide innovation movement that aims to engage students from about 2.5 lakh schools across India. The initiative, organised in collaboration with the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, encourages participation from all regions, including aspirational districts and remote areas.
The programme seeks to involve students in Grades 6 to 12 in developing solutions and prototypes addressing real-life challenges under four themes, including Vocal for Local, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Swadeshi, and Samriddh Bharat.
Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025: Awards and prize distribution
According to the education ministry, schools will submit their entries in the form of photos and videos. A panel of experts will evaluate the submissions, and selected teams will receive awards from a total prize pool of Rs 1 crore.
According to the official website, the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 will recognise a total of 1,110 winners across different levels. At the district level, 1,000 winners will be selected, followed by 100 winners at the state level and 10 winners at the national level.
All teams participating in the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 will receive participation certificates. In addition to the prizes, the selected schools and students will be provided with continued mentorship and support from corporate and innovation partners to help develop and scale their innovations further.
“A panel of experts will evaluate the entries, and the top teams will be awarded prizes from a pool of Rs 1 crore. Beyond recognition, these schools and students will receive long-term support through corporate adoption, mentorship, and resources to further strengthen their innovations,” the official press release said.
