Dharmendra Pradhan launches Viksit Bharat Buildathon for students of Classes 6 to 12

School education department will organise VBB on October 13 for 12 crore students in 6 lakh schools. Registration starts and last date to apply is October 6.
Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan today launched the Viksit Bharat Buildathon for students of Classes 6 to 12, in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog. The initiative aims to instill innovation, creativity, and problem-solving among school students in alignment with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The buildathon will enable 12 crore students across six lakh schools to ideate, design, and develop prototypes under four themes including vocal for local, atmanirbhar bharat, swadeshi, and samriddh bharat.
The department of school education and literacy will organise the buildathon on October 13 in six lakh schools from 10 am to 12 noon. Prime minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the live event. Interested students can register for the event from September 23 to October 6 and submit their entries for the buildathon from October 13 to 31.
The names of winners will be announced in January 2026. The top 10 national-level, 100 state-level, and 1,000 district-level winners will be felicitated with a total award pool of Rs 1 crore.

Talking about the event, Pradhan said in a post on X, “A one-of-its-kind and one of the largest innovation movement ever being attempted in the world with participation from over 6 lakh schools and 12 crore students, Viksit Bharat Buildathon resonating with PM Modi’s call-to-action for Atmanirbhar Bharat is one more step towards translating the vision of NEP 2020 into action, providing a global platform for students to actively test ideas and innovation and inspiring them to think creatively for national development.”
