FMGE December 2025 scorecards out; over 76% foreign MBBS graduates fail to qualify

The FMGE December 2025 results show a slight improvement, with the pass percentage rising to 23.37%, compared to 18.61% in FMGE June 2025.
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has published the scorecards for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) December 2025 today. Only 10,262 candidates cleared the screening test required for medical registration in India for students who completed an MBBS degree from a recognised university abroad.

According to the FMGE result data , around three out of four candidates failed the December session exam. Of the 43,933 candidates who registered, 42,872 appeared for the exam held on January 17, while 1,061 candidates were marked absent.
Of the total, only 10,262 candidates (23.95%) cleared the exam, with 32,604 candidates — over 76% of those who appeared - failing to qualify.

The NBEMS uploaded the FMGE scorecards on February 6, clarifying that results remain provisional and are subject to in-person identity and credential verification before issuance of pass certificates. Candidates will have to key in their login credentials to download their FMGE scorecards from the official website, natboard.edu.in.
As per the final answer key, one question was found to be technically incorrect, while another had two correct answers, and marks were awarded to all candidates accordingly. Despite these corrections, the overall qualifying percentage remained lower than 25%.

While this marks a 4.76% increase, the overall failure rate remains high at over 76%. FMGE results of four candidates have been withheld, with reasons communicated individually via email.
“All SMCs will be shared with a digitally signed result in MS Excel format directly by NBEMS for the purpose of verification of FMGE pass certificates, presented by qualified candidates for seeking registration,” the board said.
